Known as America’s Legendary Oval or simply The Mile, the Milwaukee Mile Speedway is a race track located in the Wisconsin State Fair Park near West Allis, Wisconsin (a rural suburb of Milwaukee). The Speedway has played host to an immense range of motorsports events over the years, primarily NASCAR and IndyCar Series races. The Mile itself is a 1.015 mile (1.633 km) asphalt oval course with a 10-turn 1.8 mile (2.9 km) road course inside the oval. Incredibly, the track dates all the way back to 1876, when it was a one-mile horse racing track, and the first auto races were held here in 1903 (when cars still mostly resembled horse carriages!).
