PNC Arena has been home to the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes ever since it first opened in 1999, two years after the team relocated to North Carolina from Hartford (they were previously known as the Hartford Whalers). The venue witnessed its greatest ever moment in 2006 when the Canes won the franchise’s first-ever Stanley Cup in a thrilling seven-game series against the Edmonton Oilers. Alongside all regular season and playoffs Hurricanes games, PNC Arena also has a packed schedule of concerts, comedy shows, and college hockey games. PNV Arena is also home to the popular NC State Wolfpack college basketball team and has been known to host rounds of the NCAA March Madness postseason tournament. Hungry fans at PNC Arena won’t have a problem finding something tasty to eat, with concessions and restaurants featuring local Carolina smoked barbecue, cheesesteaks, burgers, and much more. There are many shops and kiosks in and around the venue where you can peruse team and event merchandise.
