Once touted as “Alabama’s Greatest Showplace,” the Saenger Theatre Mobile is one of South-Eastern America's most beautiful event venues. The Saenger Theatre in Mobile, Alabama, is the sixty-first one of a chain of theatres.
Emile Weil designed the beautiful theatre that everyone has come to love today. Even with a budget of about $500,000, the theatre still took over a year to complete. All the features that were added to the stage and the rest of the building prove that it was built to host exciting shows.
As anyone would have guessed, a theatre of this caliber is rich in history in terms of the shows it has hosted. What is astonishing is how it has maintained its beauty and relevance to date, almost a century after it was erected. The secret is the $6m restoration it underwent in the early 2000s.
A theatre with this much beauty and history attracts entertainers and event planners planning to visit Alabama. The theatre has hosted musicians like Bob Dylan, Ray Lamontagne, Kris Kristofferson, and many other famous American icons. It has also been a home for exciting shows, movies, concerts, and lots more.
The fun continues in 2024 as more shows are lined up to be held in the theatre before the year ends.
