Capacity: 2,700
Events: Concerts, Comedy shows, and Plays
Sandy Amphitheater is an outdoor venue with a covered stage. It has 2,000 fixed chairs and room on a grassy area for 700 more people. The backstage area has dressing rooms, showers, bathrooms, and a green room. The venue hosts comedy shows, concerts, plays, and more.
Since the Sandy Amphitheater holds nearly 3,000 people, there are rules that need to be followed. Here are a few to remember:
Gates usually open an hour ahead of the show
Lawn chairs can’t be more than 12” from the ground
Blankets are permitted
Outside food and drink are allowed, but only if they are factory-sealed
Empty water bottles are permitted for re-filling inside
Animals, other than service animals, are not allowed
No smoking or vaping is allowed
Ticket sales are final and not refunded unless a show is canceled
Shows go on rain or shine
The Box office opens two hours before a show starts, but only open seats are sold, and some shows sell out
You cannot re-enter the venue once you leave
You may borrow lawnchairs at no charge
Sandy Amphitheater is flexible on bag policies. You may bring in coolers, bags, and backpacks. Clear bags are not required, but all bags will be searched upon entry. Coolers have to be small enough to fit under your seat, and you cannot have any loose ice in them.
Sandy Amphitheater has both in-house seating and lawn seating. Before you arrive at the venue, or even buy your tickets, check the Seating Chart right here**.** Since the venue only has plays, concerts, and comedy shows, the event seats are fixed for every type of show.
In the House Seating
Visitors on Tripadvisor describe Sandy Amphitheater as a comfortable venue with affordable local talent and more expensive big-name acts. Since the venue is smaller than some, all the seats make the artists easy to see. Seats are comfortable and easy to enjoy for the duration of the concert.
On the Lawn Seating
Those who sit on the lawn enjoy being closer to the stage, but they also sometimes complain about the bugs that permeate any outdoor area at certain times of the year. Comfort level depends on what blankets or chairs each person brings. The free rental chairs the venue provides are deemed ‘okay,’ but some customers didn’t like having to leave their ID behind to borrow a chair.
There are two ways to access Sandy Amphitheater by car. If you want to get closest to the box office to get tickets or pick them up from will call, come to the west of the amphitheater, just off 9400 South. The other approach is to come in on the East, right next to the Sandy Senior Center, off 1300 East.
There are two main parking lots for Sandy Amphitheater: the west and the east parking lot. Both lots have ADA parking, but the west parking lot is closer to the box office. The parking lot is always open, so getting there early is the best way to get a good spot.
Parking at the Sandy Amphitheater is free, and the parking lot is open all day. The venue requests that you do not park large motorhomes, buses, or trailers in the event parking lots.
There are public transport options around the Sandy Amphitheater, but none go directly to the venue. You can take the bus route to the 9400 S @ 1285 E and take a 4-minute walk to the venue. Go to the F94 Historic Sandy Station or the 994 Alta Via Snowbird. The Sandy Expo Light Rail Station is a 20-minute walk away. Check your routes before taking off to ensure you’ll get to your show on time.
