On September 3, 1994 Rutgers Stadium opened its doors for the first time to host the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and the Kent State Golden Flashes. Now known as the SHI Stadium, the venue is home to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football and lacrosse teams and it has been since its opening.
The SHI Stadium is located on the Busch Campus of Rutgers University and has since earned a prominent reputation for college football in the Northeast. The local community and Rutgers fans alike unfailingly flock down to the Scarlet Knights’ home field during the football season.
Although The SHI has built its fame from sports events and college football, it is a versatile venue that accommodates a variety of special events ranging from concerts to commencement events to community gatherings and festivals. In 2008, the stadium hosted the popular rock band Fall Out Boy, and has since built a reputation as a great venue for entertainment events like Snoop Dogg’s 2021 concert at the stadium.
The stadium is booked full of upcoming sporting events and games scheduled for 2024, most of which feature the Rutgers Scarlet Knights.
