Chiodos (pronounced "chee-OH-dose") are an American post-hardcore band from Davison, Michigan, formed in 2001. Originally known as The Chiodos Bros. — a name taken as a tribute to filmmakers Stephen, Charles, and Edward Chiodo, creators of the cult film Killer Klowns from Outer Space — the band got their start playing shows at the Flint Local 432, an all-ages, substance-free venue in downtown Flint. Their original lineup consisted of vocalist Craig Owens, keyboardist Bradley Bell, guitarists Jason Hale and Pat McManaman, bassist Matt Goddard, and drummer Derrick Frost. After releasing three EPs, they shortened their name to Chiodos and signed with Equal Vision Records, releasing their debut full-length All's Well That Ends Well on July 26, 2005 — which reached number 3 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Their sophomore album Bone Palace Ballet (September 4, 2007) marked a major commercial breakthrough, debuting at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and number 1 on the Independent Albums chart, cementing their status as leaders of the post-hardcore scene. Following internal tensions, Craig Owens departed in 2009 and was replaced by vocalist Brandon Bolmer and drummer Tanner Wayne for their third album Illuminaudio (2010), which received positive reviews. Owens rejoined the band in 2012, and the reunited lineup released the fourth and final studio album Devil on April 1, 2014 via Razor & Tie. The band entered indefinite hiatus in 2016. In 2024 Chiodos reunited for the 20th anniversary of All's Well That Ends Well, performing at the When We Were Young Festival in Las Vegas and launching a full anniversary tour; a re-recorded 20th anniversary edition of the album was released on July 25, 2025.
