Hull City AFC is a professional football club based in Hull, East Yorkshire, England. Founded in 1904, the club is commonly known as "The Tigers" because of its distinctive black and amber striped kits. Hull City plays its home matches at the MKM Stadium, which opened in December 2002 and has been shared with the Hull FC rugby league team since 2003. Hull City's most notable achievement came in 2014 when the club reached the FA Cup final for the first time in its history. Although they lost to Arsenal, the run marked a historic moment for the club. Hull has also spent several seasons in the Premier League, first earning promotion in 2008. Throughout its history, Hull City has moved between divisions in English football. Today, the club competes in the EFL Championship and continues to aim for promotion back to the Premier League.
