Somebody gonna get a-hurt real bad! Comedy fans across Canada still remember the first time they heard that immortal punchline from comedian Russell Peters when he appeared on CBC as a relative unknown, wowing a live crowd and TV watchers across the nation with hilarious tales of his upbringing in Canada by immigrant parents from India. The facial expressions, the accents, the astute but relatable observations about growing up—none of it was totally new in comedy, of course, but Russell Peters made it all feel incredibly fresh, new, and fall-on-your-face hilarious. Peters was one of the first of the now ubiquitous North American and British comedians who talk in their stand-up about growing up in the space between two cultures, but unlike some comedians, Peters is always good-natured about it (even when shouting at the top of his voice), making fun of everyone from everywhere without fear or hesitation. The guy has mimicked South African click languages (“That is not how you say my name”), Chinese people bargaining (“Hey—be a man”), Jamaican parents (“Just in case”), and of course, his own Indian father (“Somebody gonna get a-hurt real bad!”). With over four decades of stand-up work behind him including a raft of popular comedy specials, Russell Peters is truly one of the most iconic comedians working on stage today. Don’t miss out on your chance to see him live—get your Russell Peters tickets from TicketX today!

Tour Name: Russell Peters RELAX World Tour (It’s Not That Serious) 2024-2025
Tour Dates: October 30, 2024-June 28, 2025
Russell Peters has been on the road quite a bit already in 2024, with appearances throughout the year at comedy clubs across North America, generally doing shows on 3-4 consecutive nights at a single venue. His RELAX World Tour (It’s Not That Serious) is set to start out with a jaunt across his native Canada, starting on October 30 at Prospera Place in Kelowna, British Columbia, followed up by shows at Rogers Arena (Vancouver, BC), and Save on Foods Memorial Centre (Victoria, BC). He will then head south to do a pair of Hard Rock Lives in Hollywood, California, and Orlando, Florida, followed by a 4-show, 2-day stint at Off the Hook Comedy Club in Naples, Florida. Further US dates then ensue with Spotlight 29 Casino (Coachella, California), Hard Rock Live (Sacramento, California), and Event Center at Treasure Island Resort & Casino (Welch, Maine) before Peters heads back north to Canada again for huge shows at Canada Life Centre (Winnipeg, Manitoba), Molson Canadian Centre at Casino New Brunswick (Moncton, New Brunswick), Bell Centre (Montreal, Quebec), TD Place Arena (Ottawa, Ontario), Canada Life Place (London, Ontario), and Scotiabank Arena (Toronto, Ontario). If you don’t manage to see Peters in 2024, aim for next year, as the comedian has a full lineup of dates scheduled until June 2025.
Next Event
Russell Peters's comedy is always evolving and changing as he responds to the world around him, with Peters refusing to fall into the “catchphrase” trap that young comedians sometimes fall into. This was good foresight on his part, given that Peters was known for a few big lines in his early years, but was clever enough to know that audiences would eventually want more than repetition if he was to stay relevant in the long term as a comedian. Below are a few of the general topics that Russell Peters does tend to return to in many of his stand-up shows.
Culture
Language
Marriage/Divorce
Relationships
Parents and children
Growing up as an immigrant in Canada
Multiculturalism
Accents
Stereotypes
Gender
Money
Observational humor about everyday life
