Sister Hazel is a rock band from Gainesville that formed in 1993. The band fuses elements of Southern rock, Jangle pop, classic rock, and folk rock. Their most famous song is a single from 1997 called “All for You.” The group named itself after a local missionary who ran a homeless shelter in the area and released a self-titled debut album in 1994 through an independent label. Their second album sold 30,000 copies in the first pressing and was then re-released, hitting the charts. Sister Hazel has had songs on movie soundtracks like The Wedding Planner, 10 Things I Hate About You, and others. They were also on a Fleetwood Mac tribute album and had a song on the TV shows Scrubs and The Way Home. The namesake for the band passed away on in 2016 at the age of 91.
