Viagra Boys is a Swedish post-punk band formed in Stockholm in 2015, fronted by American-born lead singer Sebastian Murphy. Murphy, originally from San Rafael, California, moved to Stockholm at age 17 to live with his aunt and met bassist Henrik Höckert at a karaoke bar after singing Mariah Carey's "We Belong Together," prompting them to form the band. The current lineup consists of Murphy on vocals alongside Oskar Carls on saxophone, Henrik Höckert on bass, Tor Sjödén on drums, Elias Jungqvist on keyboards, and Linus Hillborg on guitar. Known for a chaotic blend of post-punk, art punk, and dance-punk characterized by pounding rhythms, squalling saxophone, and Murphy's sardonic vocals, the band's lyrics use satire and dark humor to critique hypermasculinity and far-right conspiracy theories. Their debut album Street Worms (2018) was named Album of the Year by the Independent Music Companies Association (IMPALA). Their second album Welfare Jazz was released in January 2021, followed by Cave World in 2022. Their fourth album Viagr Aboys was released on April 25, 2025, via their own label Shrimptech Enterprises. Viagra Boys won the Swedish Grammis award for Rock of the Year in 2023 and supported Queens of the Stone Age on their North American tour that year.
