Any team that rises suddenly and dramatically to championship success is going to ruffle a few feathers on the way, and the UConn Huskies are no exception. The team’s rivalry with the Syracuse Orange is based more on a legacy of big games than any real animus, with the Orange defeating the Huskies in 2009 in one of the most epic conference tournament games of all time that went to six overtimes. The Huskies also have a long-standing rivalry with the Georgetown Hoyas, against whom they enjoy a narrow 38-36 all-time series advantage. Other rivals include the Duke Blue Devils, Pittsburgh Panthers, and Villanova Wildcats.
