Have you ever heard of a water-themed stage? O Theater is a water-themed stage in the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas. It was founded by Guy Laliberté, Gilles Ste-Croix, and the late Franco Dragone. And designed by a Canadian circus and entertainment company, Cirque du Soleil.

The inspiration behind this iconic theater came from the infinity and elegance of water's pure form. It has a 38m high stage house and a gigantic swimming pool where aqua activities are performed. With the capacity to hold 1.5 million gallons of water and host various circus teams.

Built in 1998, O which is pronounced as “eau”, the french word for “water” features many aqua theater performances. Performed by world-class athletes and acrobats involving aerial gymnastics, diving, ghostly ships floating in midair, water ballet, and a fire dance on the water.

The theater is fashioned with a resemblance to a 14th-century European opera house. It has 1,800 seats but can accommodate up to 3,600 people per night. This is because every performance runs twice per day. However, the number can change depending on the type of event at the theater.

“O” Theater has five seating areas which include Lower Orchestra, Upper Orchestra, loggia, balcony, and VIP suites. To enjoy a great view of the aqua performances, Upper Orchestra (sections 202 - 204) and Lower Orchestra (sections 102 - 104) are the best seating options.

Aside from hosting Cirque du Soleil shows, the theater hosts concerts and family-related events. As one of Las Vegas's premier theaters, O Theater has remained valuable and continues to uphold its legacy.

Since the inception of O Theater, it has hosted millions of guests globally, with a record of 19.1 million sold tickets. Globally, the Cirque du Soleil show is the most successful single production show, exceeding the likes of “The Lion King”.

For an unforgettable live theatrical experience in Las Vegas, the O Theater at Bellagio is the best place to go. Whether you want to enjoy an intimate viewing experience or watch a jaw-dropping show, the O Theater has you covered.

However, the “O” performance only runs from Wednesday to Sunday at 7 pm and 9:30 pm. The performance takes place twice daily so you can either go with the first or second round. Or, you can get tickets for both rounds to keep enjoying the show.
