Down in the South Loop Neighborhood of Chicago, serving as the home venue of the DePaul University Blue Demons and the WNBA’s Chicago Sky is a multipurpose arena that opened its doors in 2017 with a mission to make its mark on Chicago’s sports and entertainment landscape. The Wintrust Arena was part of a larger redevelopment project taking place in the South Loop and in the years since its opening, the arena has become a hub for the sports and entertainment culture in Chicago.
When you hear Wintrust Arena, the first thing that comes to your mind is DePaul University basketball games, followed immediately by WNBA’s Chicago Sky. The Wintrust Arena is inseparable from its basketball legacy, although it has gone ahead to build an expansive reputation that extends well beyond sports.
The arena is famous for concerts, comedy shows, and a variety of other entertainment events. It has hosted several big names like Trevor Noah, Kendrick Lamar, Elton John, Kevin Hart, and even Afrobeats mega star, Burna Boy, in February 2024.
While the arena has a rich track record with legends like Bob Dylan being one of the earliest performers at the venue during his Never Ending Tour, it is not slowing down and it has an incredible lineup fixed for the coming months:
April 12, 2024 - Windy City Riot
April 13 - 14, 2024 - We Them One’s Comedy Tour

The event roster for the Wintrust Arena is stacked. Looking to attend a show at the venue? TicketX is the best option for you, ensuring an enjoyable concert experience. TicketX offers users tickets for their favourite shows at the cheapest prices, thanks to an industry-low commission rate. There are several payment options available, a feature for live seat-tracking and a user-friendly interface.
Although events and setup can vary the seating arrangements, the Wintrust Arena is primarily a sporting arena, particularly basketball. This means that the seating is usually arranged in a bowl shape that stretches around the entire court.
The arena has lower bowl sections, mid-level sections, and upper level sections. This is in addition to the premium seating options like luxury suites and club seats.
The lower bowl sections are closest to the court while the other sections provide an elevated view of the court, and come at a lower price.
For a good deal when it comes to purchasing secondary tickets to great seats, TicketX has the best prices in the market.
If you’re ditching your ride and going by public transportation, you can take the CTA’s Green Line to the Cermak-McCormick Place Station and walk the rest of the distance to the arena.
Alternatively you could take any of the bus routes that ply the area like the 29 State Street, 21 Cermak, and the 3 King Drive.
If you’re going to be driving, you can either take I-55 Stevenson Expressway via the Martin Luther King Drive exit or take Lake Shore Drive to the 31st Street exit and head west to Indiana Avenue and follow the signs.
The arena is a part of the McCormick Square Campus and there are three parking lots namely Lot A, B, and C. The parking rates range from $25 to $38 depending on how long you’re going to be leaving your vehicle.
