Winyah is an American indie and Southern rock band originally from Georgetown and Pawleys Island, South Carolina, formed in early 2023 and now based in Nashville, Tennessee. The five-member band — Thomas Rowland (lead vocals, rhythm guitar), Stephen Russell (bass), Luke Gordon (lead guitar), Robert Buffington Jr. (keys), and Jacob "Jake" Riley (drums) — takes its name from Winyah Bay, a historic waterway near their hometown where all five members spent their formative years. Their sound blends indie rock, Southern rock, country, and alternative influences, drawing comparisons to John Mayer, the Allman Brothers, The Backseat Lovers, and Flipturn.
