Morrissey

Morrissey has long been one of the more polarizing figures in the music industry due to his refusal to fit easily into any category in terms of his music (is it pop, rock, indie… who knows?) as well as his sexuality, politics, and views on pretty much anything. Morrissey possesses an undeniably haunting voice that is really like no other, floating over the music with longing and melancholy that so many music lovers have found irresistible through the decades. Long embraced by the gay community in the UK and abroad, Morrissey has long refused to define his own sexuality, stating that he believes such labels cause more harm than good.

Morrissey has offered it to record labels or other distributors, but as of now, there have been no announcements about the album’s exact date of release. Morrissey 2023 Tour Review

Tour Name: 40 Years of Morrissey Tour 2023

Tour Dates: March 8-December 11

Morrissey embarked on an epic world tour in 2023 that was coined the 40 Years of Morrissey Tour 2023. The tour was originally set to span the UK, Europe, the United States, South America, Southeast Asia, Japan, and Australia, but illness and logistical problems caused the cancellation of the South American and Southeast Asian legs of the tour. Morrissey’s US dates included Hard Rock Live (Hollywood, FL), Fox Theatre (Atlanta, GA), and The Fisher Center (Nashville, TN), as well as a four-night stand at the United Palace in New York City.

Fans who attended the concerts on the US leg of Morrissey’s tour were full of praise for the artist. It was “a glimpse into Morrissey’s past triumphs along with a taste of his most current projects and offerings,” according to one fan who attended his concert in St. Petersburg, Florida. “The singer seemed to soar and reach into the depths of what has always set him apart from his contemporaries.” Another fan who was at Morrissey’s Nashville concert was charmed by Morrissey’s easy banter with the audience between songs, explaining, “Morrissey was comedic, laid back, and developed a good banter with the audience, balancing his casual nature with a set that was nothing short of incredibly entertaining.”

While Morrissey is not currently on tour in 2024, be sure to check back on TicketX for updates! When we do finally see the release of his album Without Music the World Dies, a tour may soon follow!

About Morrissey

Morrissey once stated, in characteristic poetic fashion, that as a child, “I lost myself in music at a very early age, and I remained there.” He first rose to prominence in the music world as the lead singer of the English band The Smiths in the 1980s. Going solo from 1988 onward, Morrissey soon found success as what some termed an “anti-pop” figure with his melancholy tunes tinged with dark humor and sadness. He has continued to delight his fans and frustrate his critics over the years, retaining a huge and loyal following around the world.

Morrissey’s 2024 Net Worth and Annual Income

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Morrissey’s net worth currently hovers around an estimated $50 million. The artist made the bulk of his fortune in the first two decades of his career thanks to high record sales as well as sold out concerts, merchandise, and endorsements, later bolstered by online media.

While it is hard to calculate Morrissey’s exact annual income, his songs are streamed close to 250,000 times per day, according to Spotify’s estimate from June 8, 2024. That means he banks about $1,000 every day from streaming alone, bringing in close to $365,000 of annual income.

If we assume that Morrissey makes $100,000 per concert appearance, with 9 concerts set for 2024 (as of June 2024), it can be roughly estimated that he will pull in over $700,000 from live performances this year.

Factoring in merchandising, royalties, endorsements, and other sources of income, Morrissey stands to rack up at least $1.5 million of income in 2024. It should be noted that this is probably a lower year for him, given that he is not on tour and has relatively few concert dates.

Fans should be conscious that any attempt to estimate annual income and net worth is inevitably a challenge due to the incredibly complex nature of collating income from diverse sources (ticket sales, recording royalties, assets, merchandising, and endorsements). Much financial information is also kept private.
