As one-fourth of the most famous band in history, the Beatles, Ringo Starr has benefited from being in the limelight in the music business for more than six decades. At the age of 19, following a gift of a used drum kit, Ringo Starr joined the Hurricanes, a budding band in Liverpool. A few years later, he met the Beatles and subsequently became a member as the drummer in 1962. He served as a percussionist for the group's first single, Love Me Do. He is a successful solo musician, releasing 20 studio albums. He is a multiple Grammy Award winner.
