CFG Bank Arena, known at the time as the Baltimore Civic Center, was first opened way back in 1962 as the new home of the Baltimore Bullets, an NBA team that has not existed since 1973 (the team moved to Washington, D.C. that year, later becoming the Washington Wizards after “Bullets” was deemed too incendiary a name for a sports team). Many attempts have been made over the years to give CFG Bank Arena a permanent sports team, with numerous minor league hockey teams, lacrosse teams, indoor soccer teams, and arena football teams spending periods of time playing there. Nowadays, while it occasionally hosts sporting events, the venue is mostly known for concerts, comedy shows, and other live performances.
