About Orpheum Theatre Omaha
Orpheum Theater in Omaha, Nebraska, is a historic performing arts venue listed on the National Register of Historic Places. It hosts Broadway shows and Opera Omaha performances in its main proscenium theater, "Slosburg Hall," equipped with a Wurlitzer theater organ. Originally built in 1895 and rebuilt in 1926, the theater transitioned from vaudeville acts to a movie theater in the mid-20th century, before being renovated in the 1970s to serve as a performing arts venue again. Managed by the Omaha Performing Arts Society since 2002, the Orpheum underwent significant renovations, including a $10 million upgrade for modern productions and a $3 million refresh in 2017 for its interiors. The theater is a cultural landmark in Omaha, connecting audiences to a rich history of entertainment and the arts.
