The Ovens Auditorium is the second half of the entertainment-sports complex opened for entertainment lovers in Charlotte, North Carolina. It is the largest theater in the city, known to host some of the biggest music concerts and performing arts shows. The credit for the building’s architecture can be given to the Charlotte-based company, A.G. Odell Jr. & Associates.
After the renovations in 2002, the auditorium was transformed into a state-of-the-art events venue. New seats were installed, and the venue was made accessible and inclusive for all, including persons with disabilities. Improvements were also made to the sound system and acoustics in the venue. In 2019, the auditorium along with Bojangles Coliseum, merged to become the Bojangles Entertainment Complex. Later, in 2020, there was a physical joining of two venues with the construction of a connecting platform. Today, the theater not only hosts music events but has become a home for high school and college graduations, as well as family shows.
