Beartooth is a rock band originating in Columbus, Ohio in 2012. The group was formed by the multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Caleb Shomo. He performed every instrument in the studio originally but then asked a four-piece band to join him. The group put out an EP in 2013, then a full album in 2014. Since then, they have released four other studio albums, the most recent of which came out in 2023. Shomo started writing songs for Beartooth when he was a member of a metalcore band. The group was originally called “Noise” but when they found out that name was taken, they switched to Beartooth. The group is named after Bear Tooth Court where Shomo and his bassist grew up. Shomo admitted the group was supposed to be a distraction while he was a member of another group, but eventually left the other group and started in on Beartooth full-time.
