About Beck

Beck is an American singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer born Bek David Campbell on July 8, 1970, in Los Angeles — the son of Canadian composer David Campbell and visual artist Bibbe Hansen, who was a Warhol superstar. His major-label debut Mellow Gold (1994, DGC Records) solidified his breakthrough. Odelay (1996), produced with the Dust Brothers, won the Grammy for Best Alternative Music Album. Sea Change (2002) and its spiritual companion Morning Phase (2014) both won Grammy Awards for Album of the Year. His eclectic 14-album discography includes Mutations (1998), Midnite Vultures (1999), Guero (2005), Modern Guilt (2008), Colors (2017), and Hyperspace (2019, produced largely by Pharrell Williams). Hailed for a "pop art collage of musical styles," he is married to actress Marissa Ribisi.
