Brian Wilson

Brian Wilson is best known for helping found the Beach Boys in 1961. The now iconic band helped to define the new genre of rock n’ roll and promote an image of California as an easygoing surfer culture full of flash cars, pretty girls, and good times. In addition to his role as songwriter and lead singer, he was instrumental behind the scenes, pushing for smaller recording studios more suitable for rock bands (as opposed to large orchestras). After many years spent struggling with mental health and substance abuse, Wilson later embarked on a successful solo career. Now 81, this music icon continues to record and perform live on occasion.

Brian Wilson New Album

The millions of fans that Brian Wilson has inspired over the past 6 (going on 7) decades of his lifetime in music got some very exciting news in early 2024. A long-lost country album developed by Wilson in conjunction with Fred Vail (the Beach Boys manager) in 1970 but never released may now see the light of day, 55 years on.

Entitled Cows in the Pasture, this intriguing album should be released sometime in 2025. The album is said to feature original instrumentation recorded at the time along with newly recorded vocals from Vail, contributions from famous guest artists, and Wilson himself. Fans will no doubt be intrigued to discover this long-buried gem when it is revealed in 2025.

Brian Wilson Upcoming Events

Brian Wilson is not scheduled to perform in 2024, and there are doubts, at the age of 81 and with ailing health (it was recently announced that he has dementia), about whether he should continue to perform live at all. However, future performances by the artist are not impossible, so check back on TicketX for updates on additional concerts featuring Brian Wilson (and all the cheapest tickets!).

Brian Wilson 2022 Tour Review

Tour Name: Brian Wilson Summer Tour 2022

Tour Dates: June 7-July 26

Brian Wilson last toured and performed live in 2022 on a summer tour of the United States. Joining Wilson on most of the tour was the band Chicago, along with Al Jardine and Blondie Chaplin. The tour kicked off in Phoenix, Arizona, at the Ak-Chin Pavilion on June 7, continuing through such major venues as Red Rocks Amphitheatre (Morrison, Colorado), Walmart AMP (Rogers, Arizona), PNC Music Pavilion (Charlotte, North Carolina), and Xfinity Center (Mansfield, Massachusetts), before winding up at the DTE Energy Music Theatre in Clarkston, Michigan on July 26.

Fans who attended concerts on Brian Wilson’s 2022 tour expressed mixed emotions about seeing the music legend performing on stage. One fan who attended his concert in Utah explained, “Brian seemed so happy to be there on stage. Even though his singing moments were brief, his voice was still recognizable. For others his age, that isn’t the case.”

Others weren’t so sure the whole thing had been a good idea, as this fan who attended the show in Chicago thoughtfully expressed: “It was heartbreaking to see Brian shuffling on stage and not being up to the singing, forgetting the words and looking vacant. The band had his back of course but it was so sad. Very difficult as us fans would have been so sad if the show had been cancelled but should it have happened?”

While Brian Wilson is not currently on tour in 2024 and seems unlikely to be touring soon, be sure to check back on TicketX for updates. Also, keep an eye out for his long-lost country album Cows in the Pasture, set for release in 2025.

About Brian Wilson

Well I’m, lyin’ in bed, just like Brian Wilson did. So goes the chorus of “Brian Wilson,” one of the best-ever songs by the Canadian band Barenaked Ladies. The song was a heartfelt tribute to the founder of the Beach Boys, dealing with many issues that troubled the man during his younger years. This song is just one example of the millions of ways that the contributions of Brian Wilson to the music industry have affected other artists, either directly or indirectly. And his Beach Boys will, of course, be forever one of those bands synonymous with the global rise of American music in the 20th century.

Brian Wilson’s 2024 Net Worth and Annual Income

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Brian Wilson’s net worth is currently estimated to be in the vicinity of $100 million. The artist made the bulk of his fortune in the early decades of his career as frontman of the Beach Boys, thanks to huge record sales and the ensuing royalties. He also sold out concerts, merchandise, and endorsements, later added to by online media. His solo career led to more wealth, as well. If it were not for some unwise business decisions, Wilson’s net worth might actually be much higher.

While it is nearly impossible to calculate Brian Wilson’s annual income exactly, his songs are streamed almost 2.5 million times per day, according to Spotify’s estimate from June 5, 2024. That means he makes nearly $10,000 per day from streaming alone, bringing in close to $3.65 million of annual streaming income (though we must factor in that many of his most popular songs are Beach Boys songs, meaning that these streaming royalties are divided among the band members or their estates).

Brian Wilson previously made a lot of money from tours and concerts, but he no longer performs live.

Factoring in merchandising, endorsements, royalties, and other sources of income, Brian Wilson stands to rack up at least $5 million of income in 2024.

Fans should be aware that any attempt to estimate annual income and net worth is inevitably difficult due to the necessary collation of income from diverse and often unreliable sources on ticket sales, recording royalties, assets, merchandising, and endorsements. Much financial information is also kept private.
