Gov't Mule is a southern rock jam band that formed as a side project to the Allman Brothers Band. The band’s guitarist, Warren Haynes, and bassist, Allen Woody, formed Gov't Mule (which fans often just call Mule) in 1994. The band released its first album in 1995 and has nine other studio albums as well as live releases, EPs, singles, and more. They are a frequent act at music festivals. The band, which formed when the Allman Brothers Band was on breaks, became more of a mainstay when the two main members concentrated on Gov't Mule music full-time as of 1997. More recently, the band released a full-length concert film and recording in 2019 and another album in 2023, Peace…Like a River.
