About Iowa State Cyclones Mens Basketball

The Iowa State Cyclones men's basketball team represents Iowa State University in NCAA Division I competition. Competing in the Big 12 Conference, the Cyclones have a strong basketball tradition with 24 NCAA Tournament appearances, including seven Sweet Sixteen runs and two Elite Eight appearances. Known for aggressive offense and energetic play, the program was elevated by coach Fred Hoiberg and is currently led by T.J. Otzelberger, who was hired in March 2021 and has led the team to multiple NCAA Tournament appearances. Iowa State plays home games at Hilton Coliseum, known for its passionate crowd and “Hilton Magic” home-court advantage. The Cyclones remain competitive in the Big 12 and continue to be a respected program nationally.
