About Stephen Wilson Jr.
Stephen Wilson Jr. is an American country and rock singer-songwriter born on July 11, 1979, in Seymour, Indiana. Raised by a single father, his winding path to music included competitive Golden Gloves boxing, earning a degree in microbiology from Middle Tennessee State University, and working as a food scientist at Mars before signing a publishing deal with BMG Nashville in 2016. Known for his genre-blending style he describes as "Death Cab for Country," Wilson signed with Big Loud Records in 2023 and released his critically acclaimed debut album søn of dad, a 22-song tribute to his late father that was named the number one album of 2023 by Holler and featured on year-end lists from Rolling Stone and Wide Open Country. He has also collaborated with Shaboozey on Took a Walk from the film The Long Walk.
