Tank, real name Durrell Artaze Babbs, is a record producer, songwriter, and R&B singer. He started as a backup singer, working for Aaliyah and Ginuwine, but signed a recording contract as a performer in 1998. He came out with a single in 2001 that peaked in the top 40 charts and his debut album, which came out that same year, went to the top ten on album charts. His second album, which came out the next year, peaked in the top 20 and got mixed critical reviews. Tank took a five-year break, then released his third album, which was commercially successful. He went on to release more albums, but his tenth in 2022 was his last due to hearing loss in his right ear. Tank was born in Wisconsin, but grew up in Maryland. He had a chance to play college football but went into music instead.
