The Cure

The Cure is an English rock band formed in 1978 in West Sussex. The band's lineup has changed quite a bit, but the lead singer, Robert Smith, has remained constant. The band’s debut album, Three Imaginary Boys, put them at the front of the pack as new punk and alternative music became more popular. They are known for their dark, tormented style. They amassed many awards over the years, including Best British Group and British Video of the Year in the 1990s.

The Cure New Album

The Cure still tours and plays live concerts, and they have six new songs on their setlist that they have played for audiences but have not yet been released on an album. That leads to speculation that an album from The Cure is forthcoming. Those songs include titles like “And Nothing Lasts Forever,” “I Can Never Say Goodbye,” and “Endsong.” Rumor has it that the album will be titled Songs of a Lost World, and fans speculate that it may be the band's last album.

Many fans believe there is reason to hope for a new album this year. On Reddit, they discuss how now that the band has finished touring, they might use snippets of the live performances of unreleased songs to finish off the album and finally put it out for the world to enjoy.

TicketX will be on it whenever news is released. Check back for more information on if (or when) The Cure will release their new tunes. We’ll also have details on any tour that might develop from that.

The Cure Tour 2023 Review

Tour Name: Lost World Tour

Tour Dates: May 10, 2023-December 10-2023

The Cure toured in 2016 and then not again until 2023. The Lost World Tour included 42 stops and opening acts, The Twilight Sad and Just Mustard. The North American portion of the tour had over 500,000 fans in the audience over the span of 35 shows. It was the highest-grossing tour in the band’s history. Since The Cure has 30 years of history, the tour was called a ‘sleeper hit’ that brought out the ‘inner goth’ fans of all ages. The nearly three-hour show stopped in Miami, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and New York, packing venues everywhere in between.

The Chicago Tribune reviewed the 2023 Lost World Tour and described it as an “immersive universe.” The 175-minute concert allowed the veteran ensemble to blend new songs in with their nostalgic older hits. Reports show that each night of the concert was different as the band altered their set list regularly.

The Cure has yet to announce a tour for 2024, but if they drop a new album, you can bet a tour is imminent. Check TicketX regularly for any announcements and updates.

About The Cure

The Cure is known for being an alternative band, but they cannot be kept to one label. They dabble in a variety of genres, and their music is often described as gothic rock, dance rock, punk, new wave, and even alternative pop. The lead singer, Robert Smith, the only member who has been with the band for its duration, says the band’s sound is “cure music,” and that’s where they got their name. The Cure is one of the pioneers of gothic rock, and it is the most popular band in that genre. Their material tends to get darker with each song they release. Their first album, Three Imaginary Boys, was released in 1979, and they may release their last in 2024. The Cure was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.

The Cure 2024 Net Worth

There isn’t concrete information as to how much The Cure, as a whole, is worth, but Robert Smith, the lead vocalist and guitarist, has a net worth in the ballpark of $25 million as of 2024, according to celebritynetworth.com. Since he is the only member who has been with the band from its inception, he’s most likely worth the most.

Estimating net worth is difficult as numbers fluctuate, and reports can vary. There are lots of details to incorporate, but the figures aren’t always accessible. Many financial details are private, and even by the end of the year, figures may be incomplete.

When The Cure took North America by storm with their last tour in 2023, Lost World, they grossed $37.5 million. Since they are likely to drop a new album in 2024 and take on another tour, their income this year will rise. Add the streaming numbers to the tour, and they should be able to hit $50 million with ease.
