Capacity: 19,400
Home Teams: Minnesota United FC (MLS)
Allianz Field opened in 2019 in St. Paul as the new home of MLS club Minnesota United FC, who had spent their first few seasons since joining the league in 2015 in the University of Minnesota’s Huntingdon Bank Stadium. Unlike that venue, which is designed for college football, Allianz Field is a state of the art soccer-specific stadium that has already received rave reviews from local soccer fans. Designed to expand to hold nearly 25,000 fans in the near future, the venue puts the front row of fans just inches from the side of the field and includes a safe standing area ( dubbed “The Wonderwall”) behind one of the goals where fans can stand and sing together. Minnesota United FC have done fairly well since moving to Allianz Field, making the playoffs in 4 of the last 5 seasons (missing out in 2023) and reaching the MLS Playoffs semifinals in 2020, where they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker to the Seattle Sounders. They also finished Runners-up in the US Open Cup in 2019. Supporter groups include the Dark Clouds, True North Elite, Red Loons, and Dark Glitterati, who love to belt out the club’s anthem “Wonderwall” by Oasis along with the rest of the crowd. Hungry visitors at Allianz Field will find no shortage of tasty snacks, with everything from mini corn dogs and bratwurst to Barbacoa tacos and Tandoori chicken bowls on the menu, along with plenty of cold beer or hot coffee (some days can be very cold and snowy at Allianz Field!). For Minnesota United FC merchandise, head to one of the venue’s many shops and kiosks.
As well as Minnesota United FC soccer games, Allianz Field has hosted college football games and international soccer matches, most featuring the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team or U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team. The venue has only recently branched into offering music events, with the following concerts scheduled to be held at Allianz Field in 2024:
・June 28-29 - Breakaway Music Festival - lineup TBA
