The arena is ideal for stadium concerts, family shows, sports events, corporate functions, and nontraditional performances. It hosts a mix of music legends and some of the brightest stars in the entertainment industry. Wellness Arena has featured names like Willie NelsonTwenty-One Pilots, Eric ChurchThe 1975The Avett Brothers, and Paul McCartney.

The Greenville Swamp Rabbits' home ice, Bon Secours Wellness Arena, brings hockey to the Upstate, as well as fights from the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), college-level basketball, Monster Jam, and other action-packed events, however occasionally.

The arena, built in 1998 for $63 million under the erstwhile name of BI-LO Center, was constructed to replace Greenville’s Memorial Auditorium, which was outdated and lacked necessary repairs at the time. The auditorium eventually imploded in September 1997 to give way to the new building.

The remade arena’s naming rights were bought by Dutch Grover Ahold, who owned BI-LO when it was still standing on the block. Upon being erected, it beat Columbia’s Carolina Coliseum as South Carolina’s largest arena. It held that title until 2002, when Colonial Life Arena was built to overtake it.

On September 18th, 2013, the BI-LO Center was officially rebranded as the Bon Secours Wellness Arena after its naming rights were bought by the Bon Secours Health System, a not-for-profit Marriottsville, Maryland-based Catholic health organization founded in 1983.
