College Street Music Hall (CSMH) opened at 238 College Street, New Haven on the site of the old Palace and Roger Sherman Theatres on May 1st of 2015. Located in the heart of downtown New Haven’s arts and entertainment district, CSMH joins the scene as the hub for live music performance in New Haven and all of Southern New England. The venue’s capacity is up to 2000 people. As a multi-capacity theater with state-of-the-art production facilities (including world class concert audio and lighting) CSMH’s mission is to attract major live touring artists who might normally think of Connecticut merely as a state in between the entertainment meccas of New York City and Boston.
Over the years, College Street Music Hall has hosted an impressive lineup of performers, including renowned musicians and community-oriented events. Given its history, the venue is set to continue attracting notable artists. Several artists have already announced their performance shows for this year.

Honoring Richard Smallwood's contributions to gospel music, the event will be held on April 19, 2024, at the Yale Institute of Sacred Music, with fully reserved seating available in both the Floor and Balcony sections. Together with Smallwood's ensemble, Vision, and a local community choir, renowned performers including Tramaine Hawkins, Karen Clark Sheard, BeBe Winans, The Walls ensemble, John Holiday, and Joseph Joubert will perform. Some of Smallwood's most well-known modern gospel compositions, including "Angels," "Bless the Lord," "Secret Place," "Thank You," and "Total Praise," will be featured. Smallwood has won multiple honors for his distinctive fusion of mainstream, classical, and gospel music with spirituals. This has led to a celebration of his considerable influence in the gospel music field. Come celebrate a true musical pioneer at College Music Hall on Saturday. His music is full of healing force and personal victory.
