Gillette Stadium Events

Gillette Stadium opened in 2002 on the heels of the New England Patriots first-ever Super Bowl (XXXVI) triumph in 2001. Even the most optimistic of Patriots fans could not have predicted the glory that was to come at their new stadium. Over the ensuing two decades, the New England Patriots went on to establish one of the greatest sporting dynasties of recent times, with quarterback Tom Brady leading the team to five more Super Bowls to make the Patriots the most successful NFL team in history thus far. This success has inevitably earned the team a large share of haters from around the country, particularly following the infamous “Deflate-gate” scandal that delighted late night comedians for months. Such animosity has only served, however, to entrench even more of a fortress mentality at Gillette Stadium among Pats fans, whose passion and fervor create a very tough environment for visiting teams (along with the famously cold windy New England weather!). The Patriots share Gillette Stadium with the New England Revolution of the MLS, perennial playoff contenders themselves who have made it to the MLS Cup Final five times (unfortunately, incredibly, losing on all five occasions!). As well as all regular season and playoff Patriots and Revolution home games, Gillette Stadium hosts big college football games, concerts, international soccer matches, and even outdoor NHL hockey games. It is also scheduled to host several soccer matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Hungry fans will find the food at Gillette Stadium excellent due to their in-house approach to food provision, with plenty of savory classics like burgers, burritos, pizza, and Italian sausages (and craft beer!) to warm you up on those cold New England nights. There are also many kiosks and shops where you can purchase team and event merchandise, including plenty of stuff emblazoned with the football team’s iconic Patriot Pat or “Flying Elvis” emblems.

*Note: New England is a large region. Gillette Stadium is located in Foxborough, Massachusetts (about 30 minutes by car from Boston or Providence, Rhode Island).
