The Columbus Crew moved into futuristic Lower.com Field in 2021, midway through the MLS season, after spending 22 years in Historic Crew Stadium, the first soccer-specific stadium in the United States. Lower.com Field is a truly spectacular modern facility, vaguely resembling something out of Star Wars from the outside with its sleek angled roof and matte black finish. The Crew have a long and proud history in MLS as one of the 10 surviving teams who helped found the league in 1996, though it took them until 2008 to win their first MLS Cup. After claiming another in the COVID-troubled season of 2020, the Crew delighted their fans in 2023 by going on a mad run through the MLS Playoffs all the way to the final, where they defeated the defending champions Los Angeles FC by a score of 2-1 in front of a rapturous sold out crowd at Lower.com Field. While the Crew previously had three quite separate supporters groups in its early years, these groups merged into a single (loud!) group in 2008 known as Nordecke (German for “north corner”) who do a lot to generate the fantastic atmosphere at Crew homes games. Hungry visitors to Lower.com Field will find no shortage of tasty snacks, with everything from cheesesteaks and BBQ platters to chicken quesadillas and Smash burgers on the menu. Plenty of cold craft beer is also available. For Columbus Crew merchandise, head to one of the venue’s many shops and kiosks.

Does Lower.com Field host concerts and other events?

As well as Columbus Crew soccer games, Lower.com Field has also hosted several international soccer games featuring the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team and U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team.
