Opened just three years after the turn of the 20th century, the New Amsterdam Theatre is a beautiful old historic Broadway theater in the heart of New York City’s Manhattan Theater District. While the New Amsterdam Theatre has seen a broad range of different types of performances over the years, its purchase and renovation by the Disney company after years as a movie theater means that it has become primarily a showcase for live stage performances of Disney productions (mostly musicals).

Since it was bought by Disney, the New Amsterdam Theatre has been the home of several large-scale long-running Disney musicals, with the current production, Aladdin: The Musical, currently in its 10th year since launching in 2014.
