Home Teams: Cincinnati Bengals (NFL)
Close your eyes at the right time at Paycor Stadium, home of the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals, and you might think for a moment that you have stumbled into a Guns N’ Roses concert instead of a sporting event. The stadium has been nicknamed “The Jungle” by fans, a reference to the large expanse of treed riverfront land that it occupies in downtown Cincinnati (along with the Great American Ball Park, home to MLB’s Cincinnati Reds), which makes the Guns N’ Roses smash hit “Welcome to the Jungle” an obvious choice as the Bengals’ unofficial anthem. The song is played before every kickoff, testing the sound system of Paycor Stadium to its utmost limits. Long-term, long-suffering Bengals fans have supported their team through some dark times in the past, watching them struggle to make the playoffs. Fortunes have improved a bit in recent years, with the Bengals even making their first trip to the Big Show in over 30 years when they squared off against the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI in 2022. Unfortunately, they lost in a heartbreaking but memorable 23-20 game where the lead changed three times. Ah well, at least the Bengals still have the coolest helmets in the league. As well as hosting all regular season and playoff Bengals home games, Paycor Stadium also features high school and NCAA college football games, concerts, and (surprisingly) a chess tournament! Turning up at Paycor Stadium on an empty stomach is nothing to worry about, with plenty of tasty snacks like Papa John’s pizza, tacos, and warm bowls of chili (great for cold winter days), plus plenty of craft beer. Team and event merchandise can be found at the stadium’s many kiosks and shops, including plenty of stuff with the Bengals’ striking color pattern.
Paycor Stadium is a big venue with a plethora of seating options for visitors to choose from. There is extensive premium seating in the form of club seats that include access to luxury lounges. Plentiful general seating fills the rest of the stadium, with options to match every preference and budget (from mid-range to cheaper prices). All seats provide excellent views of the action; there isn’t a bad seat in the house.
