We the Kinds came together in Bradenton, Florida, in 2005. Their first full-length album debuted in 2007 and sold over 250,000 copies. They have since performed headlining tours across the world. The four bandmates have been friends since childhood and got their band name from their middle school, which was called Martha B. King Middle School.
