Amyl and the Sniffers are an Australian pub rock and punk band based in Melbourne, consisting of vocalist Amy Taylor, guitarist Declan Mehrtens, bassist Gus Romer, and drummer Bryce Wilson. The band was formed in 2016 when Taylor, Wilson, and Mehrtens wrote, recorded, and released their debut EP Giddy Up in a single twelve-hour session. Their name references the Australian slang for amyl nitrite. Signed to Rough Trade Records, they released their self-titled debut album in 2019, winning the ARIA Award for Best Rock Album that year. Their high-energy performances and Taylor's fierce frontwoman presence quickly earned them an international following. Their second album Comfort to Me (2021) and third album Cartoon Darkness (2024) further cemented their reputation as one of Australia's most electrifying live acts.
