About Big Thief
Big Thief is an American indie folk band formed in Brooklyn, New York, in 2015, built around the songs of vocalist and guitarist Adrianne Lenker. The current lineup consists of Lenker, guitarist Buck Meek, and drummer James Krivchenia. Known for their raw, emotionally intimate sound blending folk, indie rock, and alternative influences, the band released their debut album Masterpiece on Saddle Creek Records in 2016 to widespread critical acclaim, followed by Capacity in 2017. After signing to 4AD, they released two albums in 2019, U.F.O.F. and Two Hands, both of which received Grammy nominations. Their fifth album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You, a sprawling 20-track double album, was released in 2022 and further cemented their reputation as one of the most compelling indie acts of their generation. Their sixth album Double Infinity followed in September 2025. Lenker also maintains a celebrated solo career alongside the band.
