David Crowder Band is a Christian rock and worship band from Waco, Texas. The group has six members, but disbanded in 2012 as David Crowder embarked on a solo career. The rest of the band formed a group called The Digital Age. The band formed with Crowder recognized that half the students at Baylor University were not attending church. He became the pastor of worship and grew the church, as well as his band’s lineup. Crowder started writing songs to incorporate, which led to an independent album. The CD brought a wider audience, and the group was invited to festivals and other events. They were then signed to Sparrow Records and toured extensively, though they still made it back to their home church for most Sundays. David Crowder Band is known for using unconventional instruments in their music, mostly attributed to their drummer Jeremy Bush. He used a robot drummer, a Speak and Spell, and a silver box with switches in certain songs, among other items.
