Geese formed in 2016, when its members were high school freshmen in Brooklyn rehearsing in the drummer's basement in Fort Greene, and took their name from guitarist Emily Green's nickname. Cameron Winter sings and writes, alongside Green, bassist Dominic DiGesu and drummer Max Bassin. They signed to Partisan Records in 2020 and had been close to breaking up after graduation before deciding to carry on. Projector and 3D Country built a devoted following, but Getting Killed, released in September 2025 and produced with Kenny Beats, made them one of the most argued-about bands in rock, topping year-end lists at TIME, The New Yorker and The New York Times. In 2026 they made their Saturday Night Live debut and won a BRIT Award for International Group of the Year.
