Iron Maiden is an English heavy metal band formed in Leyton, East London, in 1975 consisting of bassist and songwriter Steve Harris, lead vocalist Bruce Dickinson, drummer Nicko McBrain, and guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith, and Janick Gers in the early years.
In the early years, the band was influenced by Hard Rock, incorporating the sound of punk rock. After the new vocalist Bruce Dickinson joined, they focused more on melody and consistency. Subsequently, the punk elements diminished, and the musical style solidified with a focus on elegant guitar work.
Over the years, their sound and vocals have evolved to match exactly what their audience wants in every decade.
The band was formed in 1975, and given its success in its prime, you can imagine the accolades it would have received over the years. Generally, in the industry, this group is regarded as the band that launched the new British heavy metal movement.
A few years after its formation, the band gained relevance outside Britain. In the 1980s, their albums went platinum and gold in countries outside the UK. At some point in their career, the group was featured in the Guinness World Records for achieving some amazing global feats.
In all their years, they have won one Grammy award, multiple Juno Awards, Loudwire Awards, Metal Storm Awards, MusicRadar Awards, and Heavy Music Awards, to mention a few. They have also been inducted into many elite music categories, like the Metal Hall of Fame and the British Music Experience.
It's always a blast when a Grammy-winning heavy metal band like Iron Maiden takes the stage. Having performed in over 2500 concerts, the team definitely knows what they are doing. In 2024, they will be back on stage for their Future Past tour, and every concert promises to be exciting. You can pick up a ticket for the concert date in your city on TicketX. While the concerts start on September 1st in Australia, they don’t reach North America until October.
