About Saliva

Saliva are an American rock band formed in Bartlett, Tennessee — a suburb of Memphis — in September 1996, originally consisting of vocalist Josey Scott, lead guitarist Wayne Swinny, rhythm guitarist Chris D'Abaldo, bassist Dave Novotny, and drummer Todd Poole, who was replaced by Paul Crosby in 1999. Known for their fusion of hard rock, nu-metal, and rap-metal, the band released their self-titled debut in 1997 on Rockingchair Records before signing with Island Records. Their breakthrough sophomore album Every Six Seconds (2001) was certified platinum and featured the singles "Your Disease" (number three on Mainstream Rock) and "Click Click Boom" (number one on Mainstream Rock) — the latter becoming ubiquitous at sporting events and WWE programming. Songs from the album appeared in The Fast and the Furious, and the band recorded the main theme for the video game SpyHunter. Their third album Back into Your System (2002) reached number 19 on the Billboard 200 and produced "Always," which topped the Modern Rock chart. Subsequent albums include Survival of the Sickest (2004) and Blood Stained Love Story (2007). The band has received six Grammy nominations and won one MTV Video Music Award. Founding vocalist Josey Scott departed in 2011 to pursue Christian music, and founding guitarist Wayne Swinny — the last original member — died of a brain hemorrhage on March 22, 2023, at age 59 while on tour. The band continues under vocalist Bobby Amaru, releasing Revelation (2023) and Revelation: Retold (2025).
