Shaggy, real name Orville Richard Burrell, is a reggae musician from Jamaica. He has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards and won twice for Best Reggae Album in 1996 and 2019. He was also honored with a Brit Award for International Male Solo Artist in 2002. The Jamaican Order of Distinction awarded him the Commander rank in 2022, and he received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree from Brown University. Shaggy was born in Kingston, Jamaica, but moved to New York City with his mom at 18. He decided to pursue music in 1993 and has gone on to have platinum hits. He competed on season seven of The Masked Singer and has appeared in other movies and TV shows. He married Rebecca Packer in 2014, and they have three daughters. He also has two sons from other relationships, one of whom is a rapper.
