Capacity: 22,500
Home Teams: St. Louis City SC (MLS)
CityPark (or CITYPARK) is a brand new soccer-specific stadium in downtown St. Louis that was opened in late 2022 in time to host St. Louis City SC, MLS’s newest expansion franchise, for the first season in 2023. The stadium was designed with clear awnings over the stands to protect fans from inclement weather while letting in plenty of sunlight and to avoid casting shadows onto the field. There is one standing only section in CityPark that can accommodate over 3,000 fans along with one specialized platform for fans who want to bang a big drum to support their team. St. Louis City SC’s maiden MLS season in the new venue was a big hit in the city, with virtually all home games sold out. The team responded in kind with an incredible 1st place finish in the Western Conference before falling to Sporting Kansas City (who had finished 8th in the Western Conference!) by scores of 4-1 and 2-1 in Round One of the MLS Playoffs. No doubt St. Louis City SC fans will go into 2024 with high expectations, particularly their main supporters group the St. Louligans, who typically occupy the area behind one of the goals. Hungry visitors at CityPark will find no shortage of tasty snacks with the stadium’s inspiring emphasis on local restaurants, with everything from La Tiendita’s tacos and Chez Ali’s jerk wings to The Fattened Caf’s pork belly sisig and Balkan Treat Box’s orange-pistachio chocolate chip cookie on the menu. Plenty of good craft beer is also available. For St. Louis City SC merchandise, head to one of the venue’s many shops and kiosks.
As well as St. Louis City SC soccer games, CityPark has also surprisingly already hosted several international soccer matches, including three featuring the U.S. Men's National Soccer Team. There are also plans for the venue to host concerts and other events in the near future.
No concerts or music festivals have been scheduled for 2024 at CityPark yet, but keep your eyes on TicketX, as this is sure to change soon!
