The Golden 1 Center has been the home of the NBA’s Sacramento Kings since 2016, after it was built as part of the league and city’s combined efforts to keep the team in Sacramento. The efforts succeeded, and now four huge purple laser beams light up the entrance of the venue after every Kings victory. “Light the Beam!” is the fans’ refrain when the team wins (which is unfortunately not quite as often as most fans would like).
