PRCA Rodeo stands for the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, which is the largest organization of rodeos in the world. Events occur in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, among others. PRCA is headquartered in Colorado Springs, and the championship event is the NFR, the National Finals Rodeo. The PRCA began in 1936 when cowboys protested a rodeo at Boston Gardens due to the actions of the promoter. The group eventually organized and now has a staff of 70. They not only organize rodeos but also house the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame. There are 7 main events in the rodeos they sanction as well as 9 championships. The circuit system includes 12 regional rodeos that crown individual champions. There is also a seasonal champion at the end of the circuit.
