What we know as the Crest Theatre today used to be the Empress Theater for some years after it was opened over a hundred years ago. This historic theater holds memories of many beautiful events and a few sad moments. In the years it has stood, it faded from being a hot movie palace to barely giving proper entertainment. However, a one-million-dollar overhaul in 1995 returned the theater to its status as a majestic home for entertainment.
This Venue became the Crest Theatre after it came out of a renovation in 1949, but it needed more than just a few fixes to become a top theater again. It wasn’t until the 1995 restoration that it got itself back. Between 1995 and now, it has shown many specialist films at full capacity and hosted different live shows, lectures, and private events.
In recent years, this theater has hosted several interesting events for its audience. If you enjoy arts and entertainment festivals, you should check out the ones held annually at this theater. The Sacramento French Film Festival, the Trash Film Orgy, the Sacramento Jewish Film Festival, and Sacramento Film and Music Festival come up every year in this venue.
In addition to these, musicians, comedians, and entertainers with different skills bring their shows to this hall when they are in Sacramento. If you want to stay up to date on the shows coming to the theater, TicketX is a good place to get your updates.
