Cleveland Browns

Named for their first ever coach, Paul Brown, and playing their first ever season the year after World War II, the Cleveland Browns have a long history in the NFL, if not one highlighted by anything resembling success recently. Prior to the merger of the AFL and NFL in 1970, the Browns had actually won 4 NFL championships (the last coming in 1964) and finished as runners-up 7 times. But the good times would not last, with the Browns instead becoming a byword in sports for futility and failure. Nevertheless, their long-suffering fans have remained intensely loyal to the team and raised such an uproar when the Browns were relocated to Baltimore (where they became the Baltimore Ravens and did well) that the NFL relented and allowed the Cleveland Browns to continue as an expansion team from 1999 onward. While this new Browns team has made just three playoff appearances since, one of those appearances was in 2023-24, giving Browns fans just a glimmer of hope that better days could be yet to come. Get your Cleveland Browns tickets from TicketX and be there to see if they’re right!

Rival Teams

Nothing gets NFL football fans all revved up like watching their team square off against one of their biggest rivals. Here are two of the Cleveland Browns’ most significant rivalries. Note that for Browns fans, one of their most despised rivals will always be the Baltimore Ravens, who “stole their team” (and won two Super Bowls with it).

Cleveland Browns vs Pittsburgh Steelers

The rivalry between the Cleveland Browns and Pittsburgh Steelers, known as the Turnpike Rivalry, is one of pro football’s oldest rivalries, dating back to the 1950s. With the cities located so close to one another, this local rivalry has always seen plenty of fans make the short journey to see their team play away. The Browns were dominant in the rivalry’s early years, but the Steelers have long since turned this around, holding a 79-61-1 advantage in the all-time series. The teams have met 3 times in the postseason, with the Browns finally beating their rivals in the 2020 Wild Card. For the 2024-25 regular season, the Browns and Steelers are scheduled to play one another twice, on November 21 at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland and on December 8 at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.

Cleveland Browns vs Cincinnati Bengals

The Cleveland Browns’ local state rivalry with the Cincinnati Bengals, known as the Battle of Ohio, grew out of a personal vendetta between coaches Paul Brown (source of the team’s name) and Art Modell. The two cities also have social and cultural differences as well as a heated MLB baseball rivalry between the Cincinnati Reds and Cleveland Guardians. The rivalry has at least been very entertaining for fans, recording some of the highest scoring NFL games of all time! The Browns and Bengals will meet twice during the 2024-25 regular season, on October 20 at Cleveland Browns Stadium in Cleveland and on December 19 at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati.

When does the NFL Preseason start for the Cleveland Browns?

The Cleveland Browns preseason kicks off at home at Cleveland Browns Stadium on August 10 at home against the Green Bay Packers and on August 17 against the Minnesota Vikings. The Browns then head to the Pacific Northwest to face the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field in Seattle on August 24.

2024-25 NFL Season Predictions

Which Teams Will Go To the 2024-25 NFL Playoffs?

There will be 14 teams that qualify for the Postseason—seven from the AFC and seven from the NFC—and despite an influx of new and talented QBs drafted by teams in the 2024 NFL Draft, expect at least 11 of the same teams in the NFL Playoffs as last season.

So, who are the four that might not make it this time and who didn’t make the Playoffs last year but might in the 2024-25 season? The Buccaneers, Browns, and Steelers may find it harder this time around, with the Falcons, Bengals, and Jets possibly making the Wild Card round.

Last season, the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers met in the NFC Championship Game, and the Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs collided in the AFC Championship Game, with the 49ers meeting the Chiefs in the Super Bowl in Las Vegas.

Expect those four heavyweights, along with the Packers, Eagles, Cowboys, and Rams in the NFC and the Texans and Bills in the AFC, to make it back to the NFL Playoffs next season.

Which Two Teams Will Go To Super Bowl LIX and Why?

Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs will be seeking their third straight Super Bowl win. With genius Head Coach Andy Reid, TE Travis Kelce, and a much-improved defense, they are the best team in the AFC and have lofty expectations. The Lions had the Niners on the ropes last year and have steadily improved the last two seasons. They are eyeballing a shot at the Super Bowl and have the skill position players and chip on their shoulders.

So Jared Goff and Detroit (12/1 to win the Super Bowl, DraftKings) could meet the best player in the NFL—Mahomes—and his Chiefs (+550) in Super Bowl LIX at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Sunday, February 9, 2025.

Trade Rumors and Draft Picks

After qualifying for the postseason in 2023-24 for just the third time in 25 years, the Cleveland Browns will be looking to build their roster with free agents, new talent from the draft, and trades with other teams leading into the upcoming season. The Browns were without a first round draft pick, having traded it away, but did select Michael Hall Jr.  (DT) in the 2nd round of the 2024 Draft. They will be hoping that he adds some power to their defense. For more depth and experience, the Browns may turn to the trade or free agency, with rumored trade targets including Garrett Bolles (OT) of the Denver Broncos, Joey Bosa (LB) of the Los Angeles Chargers, and Courtland Sutton (WR) of the Denver Broncos.

Cleveland Browns Stadium

Cleveland Browns Stadium opened just in time for preseason in 1999, welcoming the Cleveland Browns back to the NFL after their brief absence (following that whole unsavory episode with the team moving to Baltimore…). Due to the team’s struggles in the years since, Mike Polk, a comedian and Browns fan from the area, memorably christened the new stadium the “Factory of Sadness,” though anyone who goes (apart from Ravens fans) will get a warm welcome. Along with all regular season and playoff Browns home games, Cleveland Browns Stadium plays host to several big college and high school football showdowns, as well as concerts, international soccer matches, and motorsports. Arriving at the stadium with an empty stomach is not a problem, with burgers, nachos, pizza, and more (as well as plenty of cold beer!) for sale around the premises.

How to get to Cleveland Browns Stadium

Four RTA rail lines running through Downtown Cleveland stop at Tower City Center station, from where you can easily walk to Cleveland Browns Stadium in about 15 minutes. Your other options are essentially driving your own vehicle or taking a taxi, but be prepared for delays caused by frequent roadworks/road closures in the city as well as traffic before and after games or major events. On-site parking is only available to Parking Pass holders. There is very limited cash parking to the north and west of the stadium. It is best to reserve a parking spot in advance ($15-50).

Cleveland Browns Stadium Bag Policy

The Cleveland Browns Stadium bag policy encourages fans to leave bags at home if possible. If necessary, visitors can bring in a clear plastic bag (maximum size: 12" x 6" x 12") and a “wristlet” (maximum size: 4.5" x 6.5").

Cleveland Browns Stadium Rules

Cleveland Browns Stadium has an extensive list of rules meant to ensure a safe and fun day for all at the venue. Most of them are common sense, but a few of the most important rules to remember are:

  • Alcohol fans must be 21 to purchase and drink alcohol at the stadium and will be required to show photo ID to prove their age. Two alcoholic drinks limit per person per sale. Alcohol sales end after the third quarter. Please drink responsibly.

  • Prohibited Items do not bring in beach balls, aerosol cans, laser points, coolers, umbrellas, strollers, balloons, animals, noisemakers, or plastic bottles. For a full list, refer to the stadium’s A-Z guide page.

  • Children children under 2 do not require a ticket. They must sit on the lap of the parent or accompanying adult, however.

  • Clothing Policy all visitors must wear shirts, pants, and shoes for safety reasons. Nudity (partial or full) is not permitted. Clothing with offensive messages or images (or commercial information) is prohibited.

Visit the stadium’s A-Z guide page for a full list of rules at Cleveland Browns Stadium.

Cleveland Browns Stadium Seating Chart

Visitors to the Cleveland Browns Stadium have plenty of choice when it comes to seating options. Premium seating is available in the form of suites and VIP rooms. Seats behind the team benches allow a rare opportunity to watch top athletes up close in person. The venue also houses thousands of mid-range and cheaper seats to suit every preference and budget, and the stadium is carefully designed so that there isn’t a bad seat in the house. TicketX lists all tickets to games or events at the Cleveland Browns Stadium and our useful seating chart clearly outlines different seating options.

*Note: the Browns are the only NFL team to play without a logo on their helmets, with the color brown alone symbolizing the team’s name. Incidentally, the name actually derives from the team’s first coach, Paul Brown.
