About Boston Legacy FC
Boston Legacy FC is an American professional women's soccer club based in the Greater Boston area, competing in the National Women's Soccer League. Founded by Boston Unity Soccer Partners, an all-female ownership group led by Jennifer Epstein, Stephanie Connaughton, Ami Danoff, and Anna Palmer, the club was awarded an NWSL expansion slot and began play in the 2026 season. Originally unveiled as BOS Nation FC in October 2024, the club rebranded as Boston Legacy FC in March 2025. Their crest features an eight-feathered swan representing the eight original NWSL teams, with a nod to Romeo and Juliet, two female mute swans that once resided in the Boston Public Garden. Portuguese coach Filipa Patão was hired as the inaugural head coach. The team plays their first season at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, with a permanent home planned at the renovated White Stadium in Franklin Park, Boston, set to open in 2027.
