Pretty Ricky is an American R&B and hip-hop group formed in Miami, Florida, in 1997, consisting of brothers Diamond "Baby Blue" Smith and "Spectacular" Blue Smith, their cousin Corey "Slick'em" Mathis, and singer Marcus "Pleasure P" Cooper. The group's name was taken from a character in the Martin Lawrence sitcom Martin, and they were originally known as Pretty Rickie and the Maverix before changing their name after country group The Mavericks objected. Managed by Baby Blue and Spectacular's father Joseph "Blue" Smith, the group began gaining attention when their single "Flossin'" became a hit on Miami radio station Power 96 in 2002, followed by "Grind With Me" in 2004, which led to a deal with Atlantic Records.
