The Beaches formed in Toronto in 2013 as a Canadian rock band. They released 2 EPs and then got signed to Universal Records. Their debut album came out in 2017 and they won a Juno Award the next year for Breakthrough Group of the Year. Once they debuted, they released more EPs and compilation albums. They won the Juno Rock Album of the Year Award in 2021 and in 2024, they won Group of the Year. The group started when the members were teens, but they were called Done with Dolls. They toured and opened for Allstar Weekend before having a member and name change.
